So we got a dog. This is a big move for us- we've never even had a pet! We "puppy sat" for some friends over Christmas and fell in love with their dog, and the seed was planted: maybe this was something we could actually do. A week later we found a gorgeous little puppy that was finally ready to come home to us this past week. She was born on Christmas Eve so the kids named her Noel, but we call her Ellie, and this is one loved little puppy! In fact, the hard part so far has been setting the timer every fifteen minutes so that everyone can take turns holding her! I know I'm a sucker, but take a look at her picture... how could I resist?!?
It just so happened that Tanner's "letter of the week" was "P". On Friday he had to bring in a "P" word item for show-and-tell. Well, it took him about half a second to recognize that puppy is a "P" word. And so Ellie had her preschool debut!

i can't believe you did it-posted i mean- Just kidding!! she is adorable!!! they are so fun. i have the secret to a good dog, ceasar milan, read his book and follow it to the T and she will be a great dog for you, oh and get her fixed :) good luck! oh my other advice that is huge is to crate her when you are gone or sleeping it becomes their home and safe place and they love it!
I can't remember if I commented on this yet or not--I read it yesterday. I honestly can't remember. Old age is such a bummer. Anyway.....I simply adore Miss Ellie! She is so cute--no wonder you bathe her every other day! She is probably mauled like a newborn! What fun for your kids, you are a good mommy. (I'm not.)
She's so cute! I bet the kids just love her :)
How cute! Emily came home on Sunday talking about your puppy and her potential puppy party. She adores you. Thanks for being such a great Primary teacher. I think she is finally glad to have another girl in class with her!
(And yes I am a blog lurker, thanks to mindy!)
What kind of dog is she? We love our two doggies and wouldn't trade them for anything - - so happy you took that step! Have her do her business in the same place in your yard and eventually she will go there on her own when you open the door. Miss you Kelly!

Okay, my children are never allowed to view this post, nor are they allowed to see any pictures of your new "acquisition." Nor can we ever, EVER visit you. And perhaps we should cut off all possible future phone calls, letters, and emails where your children might accidentally let slip to my children that they are the proud owners of a very adorable puppy. In fact, maybe we should just completely sever all communication and contact with your family. Sure, it might anger you, but that's a sacrifice I'm willing to make because if my children see that your children are lucky enough to be in possession of a snuggly, cuddly, widdle puppy, they will make my life a whining, begging, pleading, veritable hell!
